Sao Jorge Castle
Sao Jorge Castle is one of the highlights you need to visit when you go to Lisbon.
The Moorish Castle is one of the icons which is situated beautifully overlooking the historical centre of Lisbon and is on the top list of each traveler coming to Lisbon!
Open every day. In the summer from 9.00h till 21.00h and in the winter from 9.00h till 18.00h.

Centuries ago Portugal was one of the leading countries in the world. This monument was created to memorize the discoveries Portugal made in the world.

Audioguided walking tour of Alfama
This audioguided tour gives you the possibility to get to know the area on your own pace.
The name of the audioguided tour is ‘The Soul of Alfama‘ and will take you on a journey through a neighborhood that has been the home to Romans, Moors, Jewish and Christian communities.
With GPS you can follow the steps of the storyteller which will take you to the Castle of St. George, Lisbon’s Cathedral, the Fado Museum, Santa Luzia viewpoint, Portas do Sol viewpoint, Santo Estevão Church, Santo Estevão viewpoint, São Miguel Church, Remédios Chapel, Chafariz de Dentro Square and the Jewish District. The audioguide is available in English.
How does it work?
- You can buy the Sao Jorge Bundle using the booking module on this page. Buy it in combination with the Lisboa Card or as a standalone product.
- You will receive a ticket that is valid for the Castle of Sao Jorge (Saint George´s Castle) and Padrão dos Descobrimentos. Your ticket is valid for 90 days and you can visit the museums once. There are no restrictions on when you should visit. It is not obligatory to visit the 2 museums.
- You will receive a link and a code for your audioguide which you can download on your phone. We recommend to download this when you are still at home (so you have WiFi) or in your hotel. The application works offline.
