You can purchase tickets online or in person at Benfica Official Stores, Casas do Benfica, Benfica Shop&Go at the stadium, and the Freeport Fashion Outlet.
However, an online purchase gets you ahead of the queue and into the facility faster. Simply present your ticket, conveniently located in your email, to the attendant at the gate.
If you are unable to make it on your purchased visit date, don’t worry. You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before your visit when you book with us. We partner with Tiqets, a licensed retailer.

Guided large group tours can also be booked in advance online for parties of 15 or more. The museum also hosts specialty experiences on various dates throughout the year, showcasing important pieces of the club’s history.
Plan Your Visit
While the stadium and museum offer generous touring availability, they are an operational facility that accommodates multiple sports. Visiting takes a lot of planning, especially if you want to get the full experience.
Opening Hours
From June 15th to September 15th, Sport Lisboa e Benfica Stadium is open from 09:30 to 19:00. Its winter hours are from 10:00 to 18:00. If the men’s football team has a match, there may be time restrictions. Check the schedule to ensure you get enough tour time.
Typically, the stadium is only open from 10:00 to 14:00 the day before a match and closed on game days. Tours resume at 10:00 the day after a match.
The stadium is closed for tours on December 25th and January 1st, with limited hours on December 24th and 31st.
During the summer, the museum is open from 10:00 to 19:00, and during the winter (September 16th to June 14th), it’s open from 10:00 to 18:00. It’s closed on match days and on December 25th and January 1st.
Be sure to double-check the Stadium and Museum hours on the day you plan to visit for any last-minute event changes.
Getting There
There are several ways to reach Estádio da Luz.
Train
Utilize the train to go to the Benfica or Sete-Rios station. You’ll arrive at the stadium after a short walk from the station.
Bus
Buses run from 5:00 to 1:00, giving you plenty of time and availability to get to the stadium. Colegio Militar is the nearest terminal. Board buses 726, 729,765,767, 786, 750, and 799 to reach the stadium.
Metro
Take the Blue Line to either the Colegio Militar or Luz stations and enjoy a short walk to the front of the stadium.
Drive
If you decide to rent a car, you can also drive to the stadium, though some visitors have said it can be a little tricky to find your way through the neighborhood and to the stadium. Access the parking lot Av. Lusiada.
Bike
Bikes are readily available throughout the city. Use the Gira app to access Lisbon’s bike-sharing system and locate a station near you. Rent an electric or regular bike for the day and pedal your way to the stadium, where nearby parking spots are available.
Once you arrive at the stadium, head to the main entrance- Gate 17- to purchase tickets or gain entrance for your tour.

Accessibility
The stadium features numerous accessibility-friendly amenities, including ramps and handrails, as well as seats specifically designed for individuals in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. The museum features a lift that provides access to its three floors, and lifts are also available in the stadium. Bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.
While the stadium doesn’t have any reduced mobility pricing, they do allow a free companion.

What to See & Do (with Pictures)
Upon arrival, enter the stadium through the main entrance at Avenida Machado Santos and head into the official store on the left. Secure your tickets and go to door 17as, passing by Eusebio’s statue.
Benfica Stadium
As you enter the massive 65,000-seat stadium, you will hear stories about the team’s famous players and learn about their numerous victories throughout the club’s history. Walk through the VIP areas, players’ tunnel, and glimpse into the dressing rooms for Benfica and the visiting teams.
While you won’t get to step out onto the grass, the guide will let you take a long look and take numerous pictures from the various levels of the stadium. From the ground level, you can feel the enormity of the stadium and take in the intricate details of the roof. Interestingly, the roof is constructed from a combination of a metal base and polycarbonate panels, allowing natural light to flow into the arena.
Each of the stadium’s levels has unique features.
- Ground level: 21,800 seats and 12 bars for game attendees, and is motor disability friendly
- Floor 1: 7,300 seats, 12 bars, a panoramic restaurant, a health club, and Presidential Tribune
- Floor 2: 2,500 seats, company boxes, member boxes, 8 bars, a panoramic restaurant, and a health club
- Floor 3: 33,600, 23 bars, and a health club
Museu Benfica – Cosme Damião
Commonly known as the Benfica Museum, this 4,000 square meter, three-story building houses the club’s extensive 120-year history. Meander through cases of trophies, examine documents, and player information.
The club’s key players are prominently displayed, including Cosme Damiao, one of the founders and the museum’s namesake. As you walk through his designated section, you can view his jersey, boots, and portrait. You can also read about his time as a player, coach, and manager.
On top of audio and video history, the modern museum also utilizes both virtual and augmented reality to share key information as you soak in the rich history, deeply rooted in Portugal. The museum features a section dedicated to all the other teams, including their histories and trophies.
The Eagle Mascots
Lucky Benfica fans get to see the majestic bald eagle Vitoria as she flies from her handler to land atop the Benfica crest. The first eagle flew at the stadium’s opening on October 25, 2004. The current eagle has been flying through the stadium since 2011. Sometimes a secondary eagle, Gloriosa, flies with her.
Fan Store
The fan store is by gate 13 and is the tour’s final stop. Pick up kits, scarves, jerseys, hats, branded wine, and fun souvenirs to commemorate your time at the stadium and support Benfica.
